According to Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, the new Apple iTV will arrive later this year and will come with astounding specs.

It is thought that the TV will come in a 60 inch model and also will be available in a 50 and 55 inch size. It also will come with a range of amazing tech too and is set to revolutionise the TV market. The new iRing device will facilitate motion control of the set and is according to White, the most astounding addition.

White claims ‘[W]e believe Apple will release a miniature device called “iRing” that will be placed on a user’s finger and act as a navigation pointer for “iTV”‘, enhancing the motion detection experience and negating some of the functionality found in a remote.’

It has also been mentioned that the iWatch service will work with the new ecosystem and will allow for interactive TV services and even phone calls via the TV. The device will also function as you would imagine a real TV to. There are also suggestions of auxiliary screens that will work in a similar manner to the iPad. This will allow users to use the second screen while watching content via their wireless devices when in proximity of the new TV. They can then watch TV on this device within 200m of the TV.

According the White, the TV will come with one of these auxiliary devices and up to four can be used with the TV. The device will be quite similar to the iPad in a number of ways, though there will be limited functionality as it will cost less.

The TV is expected to fall between the $1500 and $2000 mark and this will vary depending on how many second screens are chosen. Some companies and service providers may subsidize the cost to bring in customers.

In short, this overall report seems to be the fleshing out of Brian White’s previous reports. These have mentioned a number of the aforementioned aspects separately, though so far have all been uncorroborated.

Talk of iTV on the Way for Winter 2013
