USB 3.0

Those expecting USB 3.0 on the MacBook Air (Late 2010) were sorely disappointed. Steve Jobs doesn’t support anything much he thinks doesn’t have a leg to stand on, remember Blu Ray? You haven’t seen that built into Mac recently have you? USB 3.0 would be an interesting addition to the recently re-released MacBook Air as it doesn’t have Firewire so beloved by creatives.

USB 3.0

The new USB would offer ten times jump over the USB you have around you at the moment, even so in response to Mac user Tom Kruk’s email: “We don’t see USB 3 taking off at this time. No support from Intel, for example.”

What does Steve mean this? No support from Intel? We here at AppleUncovered lead this to mean Intel is more motivated to support Light peak, the optical based cable interface connectivity solution.

Wise old Steve.
